Assessment Based On Books Where's My Cow? (Discworld #34.5)

An excellent companion to Thud!, and indeed the Discworld in general. The art in this picture book is somehow perfect for the realistic, goofy, fantastic aesthetic of the series. Theoretically this is a stand alone picture book, but I would recommend it most to people who have already enjoyed most of the Watch books.

if you are at all a fan of Sgt Vimes of the Watch in Ankh-Morpork you need to make sure to read this delightful picture book.Every day Sgt. Vimes goes home at 6pm to read this book to his son. But he finds it stupid that his son is being read a book about animals he will only see on a dinner plate because they live in a city, not on a farm. So he makes up another story.I chuckled through the book and I really liked the artwork of Melvyn Grant. If I had a kid, I would totally put this book in

Mr Pratchett's childrens picture book, this book is mentioned in the Discworld series as it is read every night by one of the characters to his son. If you are familiar with Terry Pratchett's work you will find all expected wit and cleverness in this book. If you are familiar with books for small children you will almost certainly recognise the type of book that is gently sent up here. If like me you are a Pratchett fan with a small person you will probably enjoy this more than many of the books

YOU ARE NOT MY COW!

Loved this, which should come as no surprise.

Consider the rating a four and three quarter star rounded up, because of the art work. I like the most of it. I mean, Sam Vimes does not look like I pictured him, but I can respect the depiction even if I don't agree with it. And it is wonderful to see Sybil being built like a brick sh*thouse the way she is in the books. But little Sam looks at best like he was drawn by a medieval monk who had never seen a baby and was just drawing a little old man and at worst like something out of a nightmare.
