Explanation Conducive To Books See Me
See me just as I see you . . . Colin Hancock is giving his second chance his best shot. With a history of violence and bad decisions behind him and the threat of prison dogging his every step, he's determined to walk a straight line. To Colin, that means applying himself single-mindedly toward his teaching degree and avoiding everything that proved destructive in his earlier life. Reminding himself daily of his hard-earned lessons, the last thing he is looking for is a serious relationship. Maria Sanchez, the hardworking daughter of Mexican immigrants, is the picture of conventional success. With a degree from Duke Law School and a job at a prestigious firm in Wilmington, she is a dark-haired beauty with a seemingly flawless professional track record. And yet Maria has a traumatic history of her own, one that compelled her to return to her hometown and left her questioning so much of what she once believed. A chance encounter on a rain-swept road will alter the course of both Colin and Maria's lives, challenging deeply held assumptions about each other and ultimately, themselves. As love unexpectedly takes hold between them, they dare to envision what a future together could possibly look like . . . until menacing reminders of events in Maria's past begin to surface. Rich in emotion and fueled with suspense, SEE ME reminds us that love is sometimes forged in the crises that threaten to shatter us . . . and that those who see us for who we truly are may not always be the ones easiest to recognize.

See Me was a bit of light, warm reading for me and one where I wasnt sure where the storyline was heading next and thinking about what was going to happen to the characters. Though romance novels are hit and miss for me this novel had some murder, romance, mystery, violence and tragedy in a light tone. An enjoyable read with some likeable characters.3.5 starsIt was as if Nicholas Sparks meets Stephen King, but in milder way, since Stephen's books are much more darker and suspenseful. Yet again that's just typical of the author since there are always blossoms an immediate chemistry and attraction with Spark's main characters. Nevertheless, I didn't like how he changed his usual style in this book, he always focuses more on the romance and the main characters' developing relationship, the concept of this novel leaned more on the suspense.
First things first, it took me an embarrassingly long time to read See Me. This was no fault of the book, but the fact that I soon got distracted with a new Kindle (I own See Me in paperback) kept me from giving the novel the full attention it deserved. Now that I've reached the end, I wish I had finished this book sooner!Like all Nicholas Sparks novels, See Me takes place in North Carolina, this time in the coastal town of Wilmington. The two main protagonists, Maria and Collin's lives are

God damn you Nicholas Sparks!See Me WAS SO FREAKING GOOD! Then it ripped out my heart, stabbed it repeatedly, and then stomped on it a couple of times just for fun. Seriously, if I never read the last couple of chapters.. I would be completely fine. Yet here I am.. an emotional mess. GOD DAMMIT NICHOLAS!This book followed Colin, a 28 year old, with a second chance in life training to be a teacher. Now I get teachers all the credit that they deserve.. it's not an easy job. It's also not one I
See Me is a departure from the tear-inducing novels that Sparks typically writes and I appreciated the mystery, thriller and suspense angles. While I pieced together things, thanks to some carefully placed clues I nonetheless enjoyed both the characters and the twists.A chance encounter has Colin Hancock and Maria Sánchez meeting and thanks to the help of another character, these two meet yet again and begin a friendship that quickly moves to romance. These two are opposites, and I loved the
4 starsWhile I usually tend to lean more towards YA books ( fantasy & dystopian being my faves ), I have a soft spot for Nicholas Sparks. I have read pretty much all his novels, own my favorites and watched all the ones that have been converted to movies. His books give me those warm, fuzzy feels that a girl needs every now and then. This being his newest one, it had a slightly darker feel than the others. The book centers around Maria, a child of Mexican immigrants who became a lawyer and
